Can you pick the peeling skin from your sunburn?

Skin on scalp peeling after sunburn?

  • I got a bad sunburn on Saturday, and now that the sunburn is gone, my scalp is peeling like crazy!! I picked at some of it, because my mom said it was just dead skin and nothing will happen if I peel some of it off(because I had it on my forehead) but then I peeled some on my scalp and it looks like I have a small bald spot!!! I can't tell if I actually lost hair there or if it just looks like that because that skin is lighter than the rest of the skin on my scalp now! So I have three main questions 1) what will keep my scalp from peeling? 2) is it bad to peel the skin on my scalp 3) will peeling the skin make me lose hair?

  • Answer:

Best cure is natural source vitamin E capsules. Not the cream which isn't strong enough. The vitamin E heals burns. It you had applied it the day you got the sunburn, it would have turned it into a tan. Now it will just heal it which is also great. The most cost-effective capsule is the 400 IU ones, available in any pharmacy. The natural source works better than the synthetic one.
