Skin on scalp peeling after sunburn?

• I got a bad sunburn on Saturday, and now that the sunburn is gone, my scalp is peeling like crazy!! I picked at some of it, because my mom said it was just dead skin and nothing will happen if I peel some of it off(because I had it on my forehead) but then I peeled some on my scalp and it looks like I have a small bald spot!!!
