Why are my lips constantly dry and peeling?

My lips are dry and peeling! help?

  • So my lips are usually dry and i normally exfoliate them once a week and use soft lips chapstick and that has worked fine for me for years. It has been like 60 degree weather where I live except last week it dropped to around the 30s it even snowed about an inch Saturday. Well last Thursday I woke up and my lips were extremely dry, they hurt and dead skin is constantly peeling off. I tried doing my normal lip routine but that didn't do anything. I google this on sunday and it seemed like Vaseline was the best answer. I've been using it the past two days it it feels better but i'm not so sure if it is repairing my lips. What should i do/use to fix my lips?

    k i live in canada i know all about chapped lips heres what you do mix sugar and lemon juice to make a exfoliater then brush the dead skin off with a toothbrush then put olive oil on them when your lips have soaked the olive oil up put vaseline on them DO NOT LICK THEM AND DO NOT PUT WATER ON THEM hope this helps

You are dehydrated, drink plenty of water.

grab a little flannel and put like some toothpaste or vaseline on it, and then rub the flannel on to your lips and all the dry skin should be gone. keep doing this, but also put on chapstick or vaseline too :) Tiffany,x

Remember; AVOID licking your lips or whatever OUTSIDE IF IT'S COLD. this will certainly damage the lips and bring them to the state of yours for a quite fair time. When you're inside, THAT'S when you should wet your lips with water, and keep them in good care.

You simply need to keep them well moisturised, so that your lips can heal themselves. You shouldn't need to exfoliate your lips so often.

I found that carmax works best for me the one in the yellow tube, also you should try to drink more water usually dehydration causes this.
