Does Proactive Solutions work? And what is your experience with acne and what worked?

  • Answer:

My dermatologist and facialist (the girl that does my facials) told me that it really depends on your skin type. For me personally, it worked great until I decided that I didn't need to use it anymore because my face cleared up. But, once I stopped, my skin got REALLY, REALLY dry, flakey and irritated. So if you have dry or normal skin, I wouldn't recommend it.

It really dried out my skin, I have sensitive skin, that is oily and prone to break out. I use Mary Kay Timewise. It is the greatest product I've ever tried. They have an Acne Treatment Gel that works wonders to spot treat, or to just apply where you get break outs.

I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at. I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life. I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy. Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful. You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy. Well good luck and best wishes.

it didnt work for me but clean and clear works for me i should of used it in the first place. haha

i used proactive for almost 2 full months this summer beginning right after school ended and it has almost completely cleared my skin now, you really just need to be consistent and committed not to miss a day with proactive. if it doesn't work for you for whatever reason then you should go to your doctor or dermatologist because they can give you a prescription medicine that will work, i wouldn't recommend going to shoppers drug mart and pick up a acne cleanser because they just result in scaring.

Well, Proactive didn't work for me. I went to many a dermatologist, tried pills, antibiotics, etc, and the thing that's working for me right now is getting shots in my pimples. Also, I'm on doxycycline, which is an acne treating pill. Some of these pills make your teeth yellow. My dermatologist also is giving me benzoil peroxide and another external antibiotic. All in all, I'd suggest going to a dermatologist. Professionals know what's best. Oh, and sorry for the bad grammar. I'm a bit tired right now.

My friend who has very bad acne used it for 6 months and it didn't really work for her. It depends on the person I reckon.
