What should I do if my ear is infected?

My stretched ear is infected. What do I do?

I haven't dealt with an infected ear in ages. I am now at an inch, I stretched with acrylic (stupid, I know) but switched over to a stainless steel tunnel less than a day later. I'm so positive I tore something because I went to take it out (which was painful as heck) and all this blood and puss came out. My ear is throbbing with pain. Should I leave the stainless steel tunnel in and keep cleaning with warm saline solution? It seems to be my only option as most, if not all of my previous jewelry are either acrylic or too thin to support my super swollen ear lobe. Also, how long should this infection last? Please keep your "go see a doctor" and "ew, stretched ears are gross" answers to yourself. Thank you in advance.

take it out and wait until it heals, clean it often. should last 2 or 3 weeks, then you can stretch again
