What is the best not expensive air purifier?

  • My wife is expecting and due on few months from now. We are currently living in a basement apartment... There's a small window and a steel door that can be opened on summer time... But I am worried still about the air circulation, that is why I am looking for not that expensive but best, and quiet air purifier. I bought this KENMORE PLASMA WAVE air purifier but after a week returned it already because it seems it doesn't really filter the air inside our room... It looks nice and pretty quiet though. Can someone tell me that I should not have returned the kenmore plasmawave air purifier or is there something else that is better than that one that best for a new born baby? Thanks in advance for answering my question.

    For my young stepson I found a small $100 air purifier in the room which has HEPA (for dust and pollen) UV (for killing germs and bacteria) and negative ions which makes healthy air when there is little or no fresh air. It's very quiet and had to be. He had mold on the walls, which scared me, and which is why I got one in the first place. It was called the "alive air Mini" and we love it.
