The chief symptom of asthma is difficulty breathing. How that is experienced varies from person to person. Some asthmatics experience it as a closing of the chest or throat, which is worsened by exposure to dust, smoke or even pollen. Asthma can also be triggered by exposure to chemicals around the house. Many asthmatics find that hot baths and drinking coffee help to open the airways, as do medications. In the most sever cases, steroids are used to open the airways but these have sometimes severe side effects including organ damage. The best approach is to have your case diagnosed by a doctor.
