What is chronic sinusitis?

Chronic sinusitis sympotms, help?

  • Anybody have good experience with getting rid of chronic sinusitis? I was diagnosed years ago and the wanted to do the surgery where they have to drill through the roof of your mouth - I believe they have much less intrusive procedures now. Also, I tend to lose my equilibrium quite frequently, which triggers anxiety/panic. Is it possible that the sinusitis is contributing to it? Thanks all!

    Gotta agree on the nasal rinse. Look around the web for info on a thing called a neti pot. It's a little odd at first but if you stick with it and get into good habits I truly believe you'll find it helps a ton. An approach like this, that is less disruptive to the body, is IMHO the place to start. Also be aware that there have been advances in the treatment of CHRONIC sinusitis. It used to be that surgery was the only answer but balloon sinuplasty and others have added to the list of viable options. Take care. -ADB

Hi sinus infections can be such a struggle i struggle with it all the time. My symptoms are dizziness, ringing of the ears, terrible headaches, nausea, eye pain and more. What i have found to work is to use the saline nasal wash two to three times a day, a vaporizer at my bedside every night, drink lots of liquids throughout the day to keep the secretions loosened, take Mucinex daily, and i also put a light film of Vick's Vapor Rub on the outside of my nose when i go to bed at night. Also they say if you sniff apple cider vinegar several times a day it helps to keep the sinuses open. I haven't done the last one very much. But this is what i do and i hope it helps you. Occasionally i do have to go on antibiotics too. Good Luck.

You didn't say if you take any allergy medications..if you don't you need to also We started using the Niel Med Sinus RInse 2 years ago and now we have brought our usual 4 sinus infections a year down to one..It is cheap and easy to use..Use it twice a day and it can be found at just about any Drug store..We got ours at Walgreen's and Walmart..Sinusitis can cause your equilibrium to be off balance..
