How do I clean black mold?

Please help,how can i clean mold on walls and could it be toxic to me and how to get musty smell out of rooms?

  • Hi i have dampness in the house,now 2 rooms have mold on the walls black mold,and everything in the room smells musty my clothes,books/magazines,furnitire,how do i clean the mold and get the smell off everything?I do not know if it is toxic to be breathing this in the smell is strong though,i cannot get professionals or dry line the walls as i cannot afford it at the moment,but can mold kill you? Is there anything i can do in the meantime like bleach and scrub it off and how to get rid of the smell?Should i open all the windows or would that spread the particles throughout the house,please any advice im worried thanks

    U need to get out! That mold will effect ur breathing and it will harm u with long term effects! Don't matter if u clean it or not the damp is getting there some how and will come back! It may have effected some of ur belongings already! Do u have a wall leak?? That is not healthy do u know if u hire a pest control to check they have to report it? My husband is an exterminator and his company checks for these kinds of things and does moisture barriers! I wish u the best of luck and will b praying for ur health and situation! you should NOT be breathing in the mold. ALWAYS use a mask in a moldy room. clean the walls or whatever with bleach. you have to use a mask with the bleach and the mold. open the windows when cleaning with bleach and leave them open for 24 hours. the smell will go away when the mold does and the bleach smell will disappear with airing out the room. mold forms from wetness or dampness.if the entire house is damp, buy a dehumidifer and if you can't, keep a window slightly open in each room in good weather. there is also a product you can buy that is in a can, i think it is called DampRid or something like that. it absorbs the moisture in the room and then you throw it away. try that. at any rate, remember YOU HAVE TO WEAR A MASK WHEN AROUND THE MOLD AND WHEN USING THE BLEACH TO REMOVE IT.
