I need to temporarily use an inhaler before playing games in sports are there any side effects that might be?

caused by using an inhaler? The inhaler was prescribed by my doctor, because I get a bad cough during my games (possibly wheezing), but, I am afraid I will get used to it and then have to use it during games, and I also wanted to know if there are any side effects...

The doctor may have prescribed the inhaler as a preventative to take before you engage in physical activity so that you don't have an asthma attack during your games. I don't think that you will "get used to it" and increase your reliance on it.
