• I recently discovered yesterday that I have a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) I'm scared of what it might do if I don't attempt to take actions as soon as possible , I'm 16 years old I go to a high school in Florida I had to miss school today because I was afraid that pee might slip out by itself and just to know that i have to use the restroom very often in a day I didn't want to go to school until I figure out what it is I am planning to do . I have a couple of questions that I'd like to be answered about the infection : Is there any advice about going to school with a UTI ? Maybe wear a tampoon incase I begin to feel the pee slipping out on its own ? Please any advice would be great staying home is not an option (I have missed too many school days as it is). Do I neccessarily have to go visit a doctor for this kind of infection ? My parents do not have a clue what's going on with me , I do not plan on telling them about the infection because I know that sex caused this infection . Is there any special foods or drinks or fruits I can eat or drink to help make this infection go away ? I heard of the Cranberry juice just not sure if it's true that it helps a lot in this kind of situation, and I know of the drinking lots of water too , is there anything else helpful ? How long would it take for a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) to leave ? I heard it could take a week maybe longer depends if you go see a doctor and get medication for it . But I'd like to know precisely how long would it honestly take . Can you die from a UTI ? (Urinary Tract Infection) I heard a model died from it , not sure if it's true but I need an honest answer for this question . I need to know how serious it can honestly get or be . Urinary tract infection is NOT a sexually transmitted disease. It's caused by bacteria back-flowing into your urethra and bladder. BABIES GET THEM TOO. 3 - NO. 4 - With medication, it will get better in a couple days. 5 - Not from the urinary tract infection, no. But if left untreated, it could work its way into your kidneys and do SERIOUS damage.
