I smoked marijuana and tobacco heavily from ages 13 to 18 then quit for 4 years i then lit up for another 2 im now 30 and have quit for 5. I run excessive feel good buy think my lungs don't work right I can take deep breaths but seems to breath heavier than most people. I think the alveolar in my lungs are basically broken and my oxygen gas exchange is ineffective compared to non smokers. this makes sense to me? I've been to the doctors have had above normal spirometry test and have a resting hearts rate on average of 72 or 52 when waking and a spo2 of 98 to 99. This is all good but im simply out of breath all the time can't even run 1 mile I used to run 7 straight it seems the 2 more years of smoking is the straw that broke the camels back. I have had x-rays all normal iv'e always been an athlete but fear one day ill need oxygen i'm also afraid to go into the mountains.

  If your doctors say you're okay, then you're okay. If you can't run one mile, maybe it's because you're out of shape. Start by walking and build up. There are magazines on walking that can help. Or you can find a personal trainer to help you start out. If you were using a lot of mj, it's possible you have paranoia from it. You should see a specialist in drug addiction to see if it affected how you think. If the doctors still say you're okay, I think it's time for therapy.
