Can methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus also called MRSA be spread through Blood or Blood Transfusions?

Does anyone actually know anything about mrsa on here?

  • this can be an open discussion!! feel free to email me i here so much crap on here and so much bad advice its killing me i have and am battling it more recently and i cannot believe some so called nurses and doctors on here saying oh they have only seen it one time, and or its only about hygeine,or you can only get it fromtouching someones wound, let me tell everyone first and foremost I hope I help at least one person i am going to tell you the worst first. fact-asia and multiple other countries have scientific proof that mrsa can be airborne fact 2-it can burrough in your skin and turn into a wound in a nonwound spot(wounds consist in any and every open pore from shaving) fact 3-there is different forms of mrsa what works for one person doesnt work for the other fact-4 if your reading this you either have mrsa or are a doctor, nurse,or know someone who does, and I want you to know that I know first hand that god does exist so if it gets to the point where it is untreatable do know god has bigger plans...serious you dont know me but i know there is god ive seen proof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! treat it do like all the other blogs clean everything deep clean maybe once a week wash table counters and everything daily, cothes are fine in washer w tide-bleach than a hot dryer......keep manuka honey around use hibi cleanse for a long time vry cheap and at all local drug stores this is very important, also be sure you see and infectious disesase specialist get your nose swabbed urine tested and blood it can be in your blood or digestive tract and or your nose and my belief your ear it lives there and we transfer it to other places...there is very strong meds that get rid of it 1,bactrum 2.vanocymn.3 bactroban this works awesome for your nose and wounds as it sucks everything out of any mrsa infection. than upon completetion of the bactrum you have to have 3 cultures of the above to be sure that you dont have it againbefore you are mrsa free...if not there are some stronger meds that they put you on for 3 months to a year!!!! and honestly even after that you have about a 10% chance of getting again but if you keep healthy go organic, take multivitamins and whatever else i dont think you should...... **i got it because i have psoriasis i gave to my girlfriend than she gave it back to me im just getting over it but ready to start the other meds!!! we didnt get culutured after i got rid of iit the first time til to late when she had i got my nose swabbed and was positive they suggested neo sporin garbage... i am no doctor but this is my story ay comments or questions please ask I have done hours of hours of hours of research on this and gurantee i know more than any doctor who has seen me about this issue. other than that peace

  • Answer:

I got MRSA once. I was working at a Plasma Center. It began as acne on my face. There was a dermatologist working at the center and he gave me a script for oral antibiotics. Thursday night I went to bed and began throwing up in the middle of the night. The next morning I went to get my check and I was told that I looked like crap. I said that I did. I had the weekend off. Throughout the weekend I got worse. It would take me a good 10-15 minutes just to go to the bathroom. When I had to urinate I had to sit and when I finished literally grab ahold of the rail in front of me to pull myself up. By Monday evening I had to be loaded into a wheelchair and taken to my doctor's office. My doctor immediatly admitted me to the hospital. They started an IV to give me IV antibiotics plus fluids. In addition I had a growth under my arm which they had to aspirate. I was in the hospital for a week. So yes I know where you are coming from and your statements are true. Yes, I believe in God too. follow up with an infectious diseases doctor to ensure that the MRSA has been treated fully. take your list of questions and don't leave the office till they've been answered.

You do have some of the facts correct about MRSA.You also have some incorrect. It is not airborne, you can't get it by breathing it through the air. However it is surface transferable. If some one has it and touches something then you touch it ,touch your nose eyes or an open sore you can get it.It does take a very long course of antibiotics to treat an MRSA outbreak.Another misconception you have is after 3 tests you don't have it anymore.Once you have been tested positive for MRSA you will always have it.It can only be detected when you have a break out.You may never break out again but you will always be a carrier and can spread it to other people when you have any open sore and someone who touches your sore, also has an open sore.Blood to blood transfer. Many of the sores will clear up on their own and don't need to treated with antibiotics. As I said some people can break out once and then never have another problem with it. Others have repeated breakouts. It is most commonly spread in hospitals and nursing homes. Cleaning surfaces with 1/4 cup bleach per gallon of water will kill it, and the heat from your dryer will kill it on your clothes.
