Is this a Stomach Virus?

How do I protect myself from a stomach virus?

• My father may have the stomach virus. I was critically ill last spring with a large abscess in my stomach. I thought for quite a while that I had the stomach virus but it was worse than I thought and I ended up in the hospital for 10 days. Again, it was not a stomach virus but I thought it was. Now I'm totally scared of feeling like I have a stomach virus when it turned out to be worse! It probably won't be anything but a stomach virus if I do ever get it but after what I've been through, I'd like to prevent it the best I can. Any tips to protect myself from other people who have it in the same house as me?

  Wash your hands with hot soapy water frequently and don't share utensils, drinking cups, etc. with the person who is ill. Don't kiss or have close intimate contact with them while they are ill, either. And I find homeopathic Oscillococcinum (Costco is now selling this) helpful for preventing viral infections - I take one cap-ful once a week and also any time I feel like I might be coming down with a cold/flu and it seems to really help. Anti-viral substances also include Melissa essential oil, Peppermint essential oil, Elderberry, Zinc, Vitamin C (high doses), Vitamin D (supports the immune system), Probiotics (supports the immune system), Digestive Enzymes, and various other herbs and essential oils. If using essential oils, be sure you get 100% pure theraputic grade essential oils or else they may be contaminated with impurities and ineffective. I hope this helps...take care, -Razzle
