I think I have an infection in my finger. What should I do?

Infection caused by belly button cleaning?

• ok last year i went through a really weird infection and i wanna tell you wat happened and see wat u think it was. it was around christmas 2006 that i noticed my belly button smelt horrible (yes i know weird of me to notice) so i had a bath and cleaned it out. after a while i began getting a smelly moist crust around my belly button which worried me and i would wash it off everyday and it would still come back! then i started getting this weird feeling in my fingers and after a while the skin starting coming off the tip of my pinky thumb and index finger and the nail started to die and become very sensitive like i could break the nail by putting a small amount of pressure on it. then i went to the docters and he said it may be a staph infection so i took the antibiodics and it all went away. this whole progress took 6 months to fix! now im scared to wash my belly button but i tried today and it looks like it has a rash around it and ive been using soap and trying not to touch my face with my hands because i also had the infection in my nose. wat do u think it could have been that made my belly button turn into an infection? i cleaned it with just water! please help i dont want to go through it again.

  It sounds like a yeast infection. Yeast infections can actually happen anywhere on your body. Buy some monistat cream and apply once a day for 7 days...it should clear up...or see your doc about getting the pill for it...I can't remember the name. If it's on your tongue as well...the cream won't do the full job. See your doc, tell him it's a yeast infection and get that pill...eeeeurgh I wish I could remember the name....maybe see a different doc though, because he was way off diagnosing it as staph.
