My voice has been hoarse the past 3 days (much worse in the morning when i wake up)?

i also had a mild sore throat but i dont have that today.. these are my only symptoms. what does it sound like i have? could it be a cold even though im not congested and my nose isnt runny? could it be the beginning of something else like mono or something else? i dont have a fever

Answer:
It could be anything from dehydration to allergy. Could also be a mild infection or just inflammation due to talking too much or too loudly. My best guess is that it is inflammation due to overuse of vocal cords. A little rest and plenty of fluids (not beer or wine) should help recovery.
