Is it normal to have fever after a cold?

COLD WITH A FEVER OVER 100.0!?

  • MY SON CURRENTLY HAVE A FEVER AND RIGHT NOW IT'S 101.5... IT DROPPED BY 1 DEGREE ABOUT 3 HOURS AGO... ANYWHO MY SON IS 4 YEARS OLD AND IS VERY AWARE OF MEDICINE... HE DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE MEDICINE PERIOD SO I'VE BASICALLY BEEN MANUALLY TRYING TO LOWER DOWN HIS FEVER... WITH LIQUIDS AND KEEPING HIM COOL OF COURSE... WELL IT'S BEEN AWHILE SINCE MY SON HAD AH FEVER SO I'M VERY CONFUSED... RIGHT NOW HE IS SLEEPING WITH HIS UNDIES ND A T-SHIRT ON... I TOOK AWAY HIS BLANKET KNOWING THAT WILL MAKE HIM EVEN MORE HOT... ANYWHO I BEEN CHECKING HIS TEMPERATURE EVERY 30 MINUTES...ND FEELING HIS BODY TO SEE HOW HOT HE IS... HE SEEM TO BE SLEEPING COMFORTABLY BUT I NOTICE HE HAVE CHILL BUMPS ON HIS LEGS AND ARMS...BUT HE IS NO WHERE NEAR COLD... IS THAT NORMAL FOR HIM TO HAVE CHILL BUMPS WHEN HIS BODY IS HOT?... THIS IS ONLY DAY ONE WITH HIS FEVER ND SEEM LIKE HIS TEMPERATURE RISE ONLY WHEN HE IS ASLEEP... I HAVEN'T GIVEN HIM PEDIALYTE JUST YET BUT TODAY I'LL START ON THAT..

Black tea prepared with black pepper powder, dry ginger powder and basil(tulsi) leaves. This tea can be taken 3 to 4 times a day .

I get goosebumps when I have a fever, I have a feeling it's part of how the body heats itself up when trying to fight an infection and goosebumps are part and parcel of this. If possible, remove his t-shirt too! Let as much cool air reach his skin as possible if he's not willing to take any medicine to bring his fever down.Stick a fan on if you can and sponge him down with some tepid water. Covering him in freezing cold water will often trigger the body to start fighting the cold and heat up (only do this if his temperature is dangerously too high, reaching 104 Farenheit / 40 Celsius in which case you should call an ambulance)
