How can you prevent pink eye?

I think im starting to go get an eye infection, how can i prevent it?

• Hey, i woke up with my eye kind of stuck together . i took a wash cloth, just rinsed my eyes out with water. & not they seem to be doing a little bit better, there's no discharge coming out anymore, my eyes just feel dry and tired because i woke up and its 7am, and i'm a 14 year old girl . But would you know how to prevent it from coming? like some homemade recipe? Because ive been looking forward to this weekend for the past 2 weeks, & this just can't be happening to me. & last night i had mascara on, i didn't use makeup remover, i used cetyphl, but i use that every night to take off my eye makeup, i wouldn't understand why that would just give me an eye infection. So do you know how can make it go away fast before this weekend comes? thanks!

  This happened to me last year so i went to the nurse (i was in school) and she just told me to go and wash my eye out with water every couple of hours and i did thid for like a day and a half and it just went away. hope this helps :)
