What Does The Appendix Do?

What causes your appendix to burst? Help Please!?

  • My friend's appendix bursted last month and she is telling me that if you eat large seeds, bite your nails, or sallow tomato seeds you can cause your appendix to burst. Is she telling me the truth or is she just trying to freak me out? And what cause your appendix to burst? please help.

    That doesn't cause your appendix to burst. An untreated infected appendix would however.

I read many years ago that "debris", which could be seeds and such, I suppose, can collect in the appendix and cause it to burst. Not necessarily from volume of debris but just maybe the debris causes an infection. This requires further investigation.
