Gingivitis and braces?

I have braces and I think I have gingivitis. What does gingivitis look like and how can I stop it.?

Gingivitis is a gum disease. don't worry though, it's not too serious. it's basically when your gums get puffy and red(inflammation). this means that there is food remains in between your gum and tooth root. you can prevent it by brushing (obviously). Flossing prevents gingivitis in the future, and using mouthwash will get rid of the current food remains.
