The black dot in white part of the eye?

What is the white dot on my iris near the white part of the eye?

  • It is a dot, its small and white. Yesterday I started feeling as if there was something in my eye ( Wear contacts) I just thought there was something under my contact. My started to turn red on the side were the white dot is. Today it was still there and my eye is still red. My vision is still good except that feeling of having something in my eye is still there. What could it be? I dont think is a Corneal Ulcer because my eyes doesnt get teary nor is the white part like a smudge. Could it be something else?

  • Answer:

It's called a pinguecula. It's totally harmless, but you can get it treated by an ophthalmologist if it is bothersome to you.
