What type of food poisoning did I have?
-
So the other day I ate a burger from a little pizza place. About 6 hours after eating the burger I noticed my stomach still felt really full and bloated and i could still taste and feel the burger. Soon after that I started to get a stomach ache and within an hour I puked once and literally peed out of my rear end. At that point over the next hour it got worse and worse, continuing to puke and have liquid diarrhea. And about 2 hours after it all started it really hit me, I got incredible cold and was shivering to no end and everything started hurting. The the weirdest part of all my hands legs and neck began to tingle and I could not move them very well and i began to slur my speech. The symptoms just stated continued on and off for the night with the puking and diarrhea being a constant. I was in a lot of pain, especially my back and did not sleep wink. The next morning about 14 hours later I still had not slept and was in pretty bad pain. I puked a few more times and had diarrhea for the remainder of the day (over 24 hours in total). That night I took some muscle relaxers to fall asleep and woke up 14 hours later still feeling beat up but not really sick anymore. Now almost 3 days later I feel pretty much back to normal. My girlfriend came over the night after I got the poisoning and she kissed me a couple of times and now she just got the same sickness last night. Does anyone have an idea what food poisoning this may have been? I went to the doctors but they didn't really give me a definite answer, they told me it could be salmonella and gave me nausea medicine and muscle relaxers to help ease the pain and get some rest, since a pain killer would have most likely caused me to throw up more.

Answer:
If you gave it to your girlfriend, it wasn't food positioning. It was a contagious stomach virus that needed to run its course through your body before you began to feel better. Perhaps the person who prepared your food had been sick and improperly washed their hands, or you picked it up from touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth. Either way, you are still contagious for 72 hours so you should refrain from direct contact with others to prevent infecting anyone else.
