Whats The Swine Flu?

Whats the chance of me getting Swine Flu. Help please!!?

  • Iv had Pneumonia quite a few times now, and my lungs are damaged. im 12 nearly 13. Do I have a bigger chance of getting swine flu? And what do u think i should do if i get it ? My Mum said I need to be really carefull as Swine Flu can develop into Pneumonia Thanks xx

    You should take extra care if you have had complications in the past, however seeing as you aren't ill at the moment i don't think it will be critical if you catch it. It's best to try and avoid it, though. If you do catch it, just take tamiflu etc like everyone else - it will be prescribed if you ring up the helpline. If it does get worse, they may give you something else and may require a trip to the hospital (not in an emergency life threatening kind of way) for examination or observation. I'm not qualified or anything so I can't really say, but i guess that's what they'll do. You will be one of the first to get vaccinated i would have thought.

You have a slight higher chance than most people because of your health conditions, also if you was too catch it dont panic just ring your local doctor or hospital tell them you think you have swine flu, tell them the symptoms your experiencing they will confirm it or not and then if they confirm it tell them of your health conditions, they will then advise you of what you will need to do, i would imagine you may need to be hospitalised just as precaution more than anything else, i really hope you don't get it good luck. :D

For you, catching the swine flu is much more likely. If you do get the swine flu and it develops into pneumonia (which is also very likely), Because of your situation you would probably be hospitalized, because that would be extremely life threatening.
