Whats the difference between a cold/flu and swine flu?

Whats the Difference between normal flu's that also kill you....and the Swine Flu?

  • Answer:

Hi Michael, A good question and quite hard for me to answer without being in the medical profession. .Humans contact influenza day in and day out every day of the year somewhere in this world just from each other. When 'flu passes from animals to humans it has or is - different strains which can evolve and or combine. Some partly from them that we take on board and some from us that they can contract.. Or if we give it to chimpanzees or apes it will go the opposite way and we can give it to them or them us. Being a virus which can adapt very quickly ( for the virus' own survival it has to change evolve or adapt) to our antibiotics and medicines in the modern world, die out or become resistant then becoming a "super strain" where as yet there are some viruses with no known cures. We could think of times in our recent history when influenza killed more people than war has and just thank them who are still searching for cures. all the very best Rab
