What are basic tests a cardiologist can do?

Can I eat or drink before seeing the cardiologist, or should I fast?

  • The sooner I can get an answer, the better because it's 7 a.m. now, and my appointment is at 9 a.m. The nurse never told me this, and I totally forgot to call back and ask. Can I eat or drink before I go see the cardiologist? I'm going in for a fast heartbeat and chronic pulpitations. I don't know what kind of tests he'll do, but just in case, I'm starving myself. Has anyone else gone to the cardiologist for these problems, and if so, could you eat breakfast beforehand? If so, then I'd love to know, cause I need my coffee! Thanks!

  • Answer:

No need to fast. Eat light and go to your appointment. Maybe they will perform ecg. Relax.
