Why is heat stroke more dangerous than heat exhaustion?

Heat stroke or heat exhaustion? POINTS IF YOU HELP!?

  • I was at a conert and it was 90. I was hydrated but I was dizzy and weak and fainted. My heart was beating so fast it was freaking me out but i wasnt really sweating. After i fianted i got moved into the shade and started drinking water but i never got medical attention. Was this heat stroke or heat exhaustion? Is there anything i should do now if it was heat stroke. It happened about a week agi

  • Answer:

There is nothing that you should do now other than avoid a second such occurrence. At times it is difficult to distinguish heat exhaustion from heat stroke as there is a continuum of symptoms. Most often when you actually faint and most especially when your skin is dry having lost the ability to sweat then the diagnosis in most cases is heat stroke. Heat stroke is considered a medical emergency. There is no need for medical attention at this point. I wish you the very best of health and in all things may God bless.

Sounds like you had a bit of a heat exhaustion. Do you have any erratic heart beats at other times? I don't think you having anything to follow up on. but if you have a family Doc, you should call and let them know this occurred
