Can i play football with arthritis?

I have arthritis in my lower back, my doc says its mild but i can feel it alot, can i still play football?

  • Answer:

Leave the soft drinks alone and increase your water and salt intake and there's no reason why you can't still play football. Arthritis is caused by dehydration. When you don't drink enough water, the cartilage between the joints starts to dry out, allowing the joints to rub together, resulting in friction and the familiar pain. Water is the lubricant for the body just like oil is the lubricant for the car. You have to keep the levels full or things will go wrong. Soft drinks may contain water, but this is "engaged" water (already in use). Contrary to what most people believe, the kidneys are not some sort of elaborate filtration system like what you might find attached to your kitchen sink. The only thing the kidneys filter is blood. This is because blood is in an enclosed system, and we don't drink blood on a daily basis to replenish it. We DO, however, drink water on a daily basis (at least this is "the plan"), and so a water filtration system is not necessary. Fresh "free" water goes to the cells, pulls out the waste and sent to the kidneys for disposal. "Engaged" water bypasses the cells because there's nothing in it for the body to use - therefore, it goes straight to the kidneys (which explains why you have to use the bathroom so often when you drink soft drinks). Click the link below and follow the guide for using water and salt. This will fix your problem and the arthritis will go away.
