• hey i want to know how to get rid of allergic hand reaction, i work at a fast food place i bread chicken sometimes but i put on latex gloves when i bread them so am thinking is it from the breading we use or the latex gloves we use it turns red,irrtated,burns,dry skin and it gets like cuts like blisters and i am allergic to fried chicken too so tell me what is causing this problem Thank you

  If the breading does not get inside the glove and you are sure you are not coming into direct contact with it then it is unlikely to be that. Latex gloves can cause different types of allergy. Type1 - immediate hypersensitivity. When mild this can cause hay fever type symptoms, severe reaction is anaphylaxis. This is an allergic reaction to the proteins in the glove. If this is your reaction you will have to wear latex free gloves. Powdered gloves are worse because the powder absorbs the latex proteins and when you take them off the powder goes into the air and can be inhaled by someone who is allergic. This reaction can affect the whole body. Type 4 - delayed sensitivity. This is a reaction to chemicals called accelerators that are used in the manufacturing process of latex. They are also present in some latex free gloves so therefore you need to find non latex ones that are accelerator free. You get blistering and redness of the hand where the gloves has been. This reaction is not fatal but may take a couple of days after being in contact with the gloves, so it sometimes is hard to link it with the gloves. Allergic Contact dermatitis - a mild reaction that can be caused by lots of different chemicals. When using gloves: Make sure you wash and dry your hands thoroughly to make sure you remove any chemical residuals and dry to stop rubbing. Choose the right size. Avoid powdered ones. Change at regular intervals to get rid of trapped sweat which may make symptoms worse.
