How do I make safe black henna?

I got rashes from henna, how do i make this allergy wear off faster & lighten up the scars?

  • i got a henna tattoo about a week ago & i was aware they were using hair dye but i had no idea it was dangerous. after a few days, i noticed rashes were starting to appear on the places i got henna. i googled some pictures of henna rashes but mine aren't that serious (i hope they won't worsen tho) my rashes are really itchy & annoying & i hate the way they look on my neck & back. i gently wash my rashes & apply calmoseptine ointment about three times a day, i also take a claritin tablet a day to reduce itchiness. are there any other treatment methods to make my allergy wear off faster? and how do i get rid off the scars? they say i should apply calamansi or lemon juice after the rash fades away? thanks for the help!

  • Answer:

Go to a doctor, these scars can be permanent. I hope you wont ever get a "black henna" design again and have told everyone you know not to either. As you said you didn't actually get henna what you got was a hair dye called PPD (see http://www.hennapage.com/henna/ppd/index.html) This stuff is so dangerous, and the more exposures you have to it the higher the risk. Many countries are actually making this stuff completely illegal because of how dangerous it is. Next time get real, natural henna which is always red/brown.
