What would be causing Hives?

What's causing my hives?

  • Tuesday I woke around 12 and at about one I started to get bumps around my ankle and they were painful. Then they got very bad so I called my dad (he's a doctor) and he said to ice them or keep them in hot water till he got home, so I kept them in warm water. The next day my legs broke out and the next day my arms. It's bow Saturday and they still keep coming. I start prednisone on Wednesday and have been taking An antihistimine and it's works but they still are here. I'm only 16 and I have anxiety issues so things like this make me very nervous. Were still not sure of what caused it but I'm curious if maybe I ate it again or something. I've been trying to just stick to just a few foods. Also I get the hives under and on top of my feet ad hand. And it's very painful on my hands. I'm just trying to make sure it's not something else causing them

  • Answer:

Ask your dad to set up an appointment for you, sounds like you should be tested to see what you are allergic to. Some people can out grow or grow into allergies. You could have been bitten by a spider when you were asleep. Or you could be reacting to dust, pollen, cat or dog hair. Or you could be reacting to something that you have eat, it could be milk or eggs or nuts. But the test will tell you what you are allergic to, it takes about an hour or less to do. The person that does it will make small scratches on your back and will put drops of stuff in the scratches to find out what you are allergic to.
