I have a latex allergy, my Mom said it's a "made up" allergy... help?

same way you did when you had a reaction to the chap stick ..also since your 18 now go to your doctor and tell him that you think that you have a latex allergy and have the tests done That should be enough proof to show your mother

really? I guess your mom should get a job at the hospital I work in then because she obviously knows more than all of the doctors in the world. Latex allergies can be fatal they are not made up. If you really want to throw it in her face, schedule a consult with your primary care physician or simply get a nurse from the office on the phone to explain allergies to your mother. UNREAL! LOL A Latex Allergy is not a "MADE UP" Allergy ALOT Of people are allergic to Latex. Even DOCTORS have stopped using Latex because of all the people allergic to them. This is a Serious Allergy and not one to be taken lightly. You are 18 years old, get a allergy test done for Latex. I am not sure if they have one for Petrolatum, (You may need to see the Dermatologist about that one. He will do a "Tape Test". A very simple allergy test of various ingredients. They have latex free condoms, get rid of hers. Take her to the doctor with you if you must, she will look like a fool when the doctor tells her it is not a "made Up" allergy.
