Am I allergic to cats?

I am now allergic to cats and never was before, my husband also now is no longer allergic to cats. . . why?

• My husband and I have been together for a while and for as long as he can remember he has always been allergic to cats and I have never had a problem. Then, around the same time recently, he noticed with our kitten he wasn't having reactions anymore, but anywhere the cat licks or bites me for the most part (except my face and upper arms) I get itchy and then a red lump ( i scratch and a lump appears and its red from scratching) appears and stays for a few days or so, and as long as I don't scratch it, it goes away, otherwise it stays. It heals eventually, but what in the world? Is it just a coincidence that this happened at the same time, that I became allergic and my husband no longer was allergic? Could he possibly somehow pass it on to me somehow in someway via histamines or something? He has family members who were allergic to cats and passed it on to him, but I have none, no one in my family has ever been allergic to cats D: Im still keeping my cat, and dealing with the itches, but does anyone have an idea of whats going on??
