What is the best relief for itchy watery allergy eyes?

Formaldehyde allergy? I dissected a frog? Never happened to me before?

  • I have had eczema my whole life and nothing thought anything of it. Then, yesterday I dissected a frog, with gloves on, but I forgot to wash my hands and some juice got on my forehead. A few hours later I have itchy watery eyes, cough, runny nose, itchy throat, sneezing, and a little nausea. I look up what could be causing this and my symptoms fit perfect with the formaldehyde allergy. But it also gives you a rash and eczema. I didn't get a rash, but I have always had eczema. Could it be that I have always have been allergic to formaldehyde but been getting low doses from makeup or clothes and thats why I have eczema? And that this time I had a full out reaction because I got a huge dose of it from all the dead frogs? Plus, how long does this last? Its been a day already. How do I get relief?

  • Answer:

First off, go to your doctor as soon as possible. If it's lasting more than a day it could potentially get serious. Your doctor will also be able to give you an idea of what is causing your skin problems. Though not all allergic reactions have the same symptoms. It's possible that whatever you use as a lotion could have prevented the rash, or something like that. Formaldehyde is found in some foods, fabrics, and other things so it's also possible that it's been giving you a rash for a while. The best thing to do is check in with your doctor and see what he/she says.
