Do I have a slight latex allergy?

Can strong face wash cause a latex allergy?

  • I recently used liquid latex on my face to make wound effects, and 2 days later I had rashes in the spots that I applied the liquid latex. I know I do not have a latex allergy because I have used latex gloves many times and the liquid latex did not effect my chest when applied there. I was wondering if the fact that I am using a stronger-than-normal face wash could have caused an unusual sensitivity to the latex? I've never had rashes as a result of liquid latex before, when I was using a more mild face wash.

  • Answer:

you can develop a latex allergy at any point & time in your life...even those who don't have allergies to anything your face is very sensitive compared to your hands. I can touch latex/rubber..but if I touch my face without washing my hands I get hives or huge welts. I have a severe latex allergy that has almost killed me a few times..but with knowledge on how to treat a nasty reaction,I have made it through..though it takes it's toll on the immune system, bones, teeth & body each treatment
