What should I take for Allergies?

  • Right now I take Benadryl and yes it does make me sleepy but it does work. I've taken Claritin and Zyrtec in the past but both are not very effective on me. I would take it and then later on during the day especially in the evening I start to get really bad symptoms again. I would be helpless because it says you can only take one a day. Benadryl does work but it makes me so tired and sleepy. I am also worried that I might be taking too much. I do follow the directions correctly it's just that Benadryl works so good that it feels like I am over doing it.

    trust me , i went through EVERY ALLERGY MEDICINE ON THE MARKET, not a single one seemed to work, then my allergist got an idea, she gave me a singular and allerx combination, i take both drugs, allerx and singular in the morning and allerx at night, it breaks up the basophil and histamine cycle in two places, making it impossible to get runny nose etc. it really works ive been throug pulmacort nasonex allegra zyrtec claritin advair even some older drugs, what happens is that ur body gets used to it, for some reason this is a unique situatioj good luck

Benadryl is the only over the counter medicine that works really good for my allergies. I now use Flonaise which is a prescription nose spray and it works super good for preventing sneezing and runny nose, I still get itchy eyes though. For that I take a Benadryl. I've gotten to the point where I can take 1 Benadryl and not feel sleepy because I've built up an amunity to it.

allegra works really well the only problem is that most insurance agencies don't cover it.

TAKE the Benidryl at night before you go to bed. It will stayin your system and then take Claritin / Zyrtec during the day. and place a little vaseline in your nose... it catches the pollin that you are allergic to. good luck
