What would cause an annual outbreak of hives?

Going on day two with random hives appearing on my hips first the going up?

• im going on day two with these random hives last night i found the outbreak around 12 am and so i went to cvs and bought benedryl and put alcohol on the today i came home and undressed and just hung out in my room in my house/lounging clothes and i undressed to shower cause i felt dirty and the hives were back starting on my left hip is on big welted streak and on small bump above it. yesterday it started on my hips then moved to my waist the to my wrist. im getting kinda worried i read somewhere it was a sign my immune system was down and that i could be really sick my cousin has lupus and her mom has breast cancer .i am a 22 yr old male living with my gf in texas been living here for 2 months i dont feel feverish and nothing hurts the hives dont itch but they are bothersome. i just recently got over a cold like 2 days ago. any suggestion on what it could be.

  There are so many things that can cause a rash that it would be foolhardy to attempt an internet diagnosis. It could be as simple as a reaction to laundry detergent. If it gets worse and becomes bothersome, see a doctor.
