Anyone know what I can take for my chronic hives?

I've had chronic hives for about 6 years now. It gets really bad on my face and neck. I don't believe it's because I am allergic to something. It's be ongoing for 6 years. I do not have insurance so I won't be paying for a prescription any time soon. What can I take (over the counter) to get rid of these, or at least reduce them?
