Can I take whey protein even after being born with an allergy to cow's milk?

• I was born with an allergy to cow's milk (which is different from lactose intolerant). I used to not be able to even eat cheese or ice cream but over the years (I'm not 20) I can eat all/most dairy products without any problem, still don't drink milk but thats somewhat of a psychological thing and I haven't tried to in years. It is possible that I've grown out of the milk allergy itself and just don't drink milk because I grew up not drinking it given that I am perfectly fine eating lots of cheese or ice cream, although I still get mild rashes on my face from ice cream and pudding.

  depends on the source of the whey protein (comes from milk , but not necessarily cow's milk). can you eat yogurt? when you open a yogurt container and see that clear fluid on top, that's whey. you could look into synthetic whey, hydro-whey, or even casein protein.
