Am I lactose intollerant?

Can you just become lactose intollerant?

  • I am 16 years old and ever since I was oh lets say 12 or 13 whenever I would eat a cheese omlete my body would try to make me throw it up. Or I would start to feel horrible for at least an hour afterwards. I had an allergry test and on a scale of 0-6 I was a 1 for both milk and eggs so I was hardly allergic I havent been tested since. Well it never really progressed sometimes after eating ice cream but it was mainly just those stupid omletes. Well I am 16 years old now and for the past 2 months any thing with milk something as tiny as one reeses peanut butter cup a sample of ice cream from coscos or a mocha from starbucks make me feel like crap. SOme times I get dierea so horribly it is like I have the flu because I never throw up when I have the flu I never burp (No I dont drink sodas or anything that would make me burp) and now after eating or drinking stuff like that I burp or I have gas and it is absolutley disgusting! Or I feel like i am going to throw up and I feel horrible for the rest of the day. My mum made stuff shells whish have tons of cheese and cream cheese in them and I could hardly move for the rest of the day and I didnt even eat that much but I felt sick to my stomach. My dad says that he has a touch of it here and there but nothing like me and I have an aunt that is lactose intollerent but I read that only 20% of caucasians are lactose intollerent and we have like the lowest rate of ecoming lactose intollerent so I was really confused. I just want to know how to get over this because it is messing with my life and what I can eat. I cant take it any more and it has only been two months! Is there anything I can do? Any advice? Can you tell me if it sounds like I am lactose intollerent or somthing else? Please and thankyou!!!

  • Answer:

To me it does sound like you are having symptoms of being Lactose Intolerant, to be sure though you should make an appointment with a doctor. It also could be a stomach flu of some sort(stomach could be irritated), my friend is L.I. and she experiences much of the same symptoms that you're describing. Be safe and book an appointment!
