White spot on back of throat?

My 10yr old daughter has a white spot inside her mouth, back in her throat near her tonsil, should she see a DR.

  • the white spot is just beyond her tonsil and there is only one spot in her mouth, she can feel it in her mouth, she says it feels like a piece of popcorn stuck in her throat. we currently are without medical insurance, but if this is something that requires a doctors visit and a prescription, I will take her. I read the comments about the other 10 yr old girl, I wonder if this is thrash ? She has had strept before and she usually has a fever and feels really ill, she feels fine. She's just been going through a sneezing, nose blowing allergy spell and now she just has a cough.

  • Answer:

Sounds like your daughter has pneumonia. Get a chest x-ray. Pneumonia is usually caused with low white blood cells. Make sure she takes deep breaths once every so often to circulate the air in her lung and avoid it from collapsing. She needs to go on antibiotics. Also I would get her some ibprufen over-the-counter. Make sure she drinks Vitamin D and stays in bed.

Other answers

you can have her gargle w/ warm salt water to see if that helps. Does it hurt. If not and no fever I would just monitor it and see what happens. Not an emergency though if no pain.

WD

i would take her to the doctors she could have a piece of food stuck that caused an infection or she could have a tonsil stone
