How many calories should i have to lose weight?

How many calories should I eat to lose weight?

  • So, here's the deal. I'm seventeen years old, and I weigh 190 pounds. Not a lot of this is muscle, as, in the past, I've had difficulty with exercise due to a medical issue. Now I've started running, but I am not losing anything. I think the issue is my diet. I eat healthy, but I don't eat a lot. On some days, I eat 1500 calories, but there have been some where I only eat 1000. I DO NOT have an eating disorder, I just don't eat a lot, which I assume is my issue. I've tried to consume more, but I don't really know how much I should have. I eat healthy foods, save veggies. I just want to know if anyone out there knows how much I should be having. Calorie calculators have told me 2500, so I'm guessing around 1900-2000 to lose this fat. Anyone out there that can help me?

  • Answer:

2000 calories is for someone who does moderate exercise, 2500 is for someone who workouts intensively. For you i say stay at 2000 because your not HUGE but i would say add some wieghts and strength training to your workour it helps boosts metabolism. Low wieghts with high reps so for example, 5pound wieghts but do 40 each arm. Cutt unhealthy carbs from your diet. White bread, rice, cereal etc. This is because carbs give the body and muscles energy but if too many carbs are consumed and go un-used it is stored as fat. Giving your body healthy carbs (veggies, whole wheat, etc.) the body burns them faster and easier.
