How to get fit for summer?

Can I get fit by the end of summer?

  • I'm a 19 year old male, 6 ft, and a skinny 140 lbs with a high metabolism. Honestly, I'm tired of being skinny, and I certainly don't want to be fat. How much muscle could I build on if I worked out all this summer? Pecs and arms are my desired areas to build but I'm open to any suggestions for anywhere. As of now, I don't have any pecs to speak of, nor any sizeable arms (though I'm not skin and bones). I believe that currently I eat fairly healthily (2 meals a day, whole grains only, little to no red meat, tuna/chicken once a day, fruit, and protein-rich foods, water only). However, I do not know if I ought to change my eating habits, and moreover, I don't know any workout ideas. Honestly, I hate running and would opt to do anything but it. So overall, how much muscle can I potentially gain, preferably in arms and pecs, this summer and how can I go about doing it best? I'm very responsible and can commit to schedules, however I don't think I'm up for going at the psychotic P90X rate. Also, I realize this is only a few months but should I see anything developing/see it's worth my time I will continue it year-round. Thanks

  • Answer:

You need to eat much more. Try 5 meals a day with 25 grams of protein each meal.
