How can I get my 2-mile run time faster?

I run 30 minutes a day pushing myself as hard as I can 6 days a week. I also on top of that do an hour of just "working-out" (cardio, weights, sit-ups/crunches, etc) 6 days a week. I am in ROTC at my college and am trying to get my contract but I can't seem to pass my run time at all. I currently run a 23 minute two mile and I need to get that down to about 17:45 but I am not anywhere near getting that. I haven't a clue what I am doing wrong as I am doing exactly what all of the other cadets did in my place. If you have any Ideas please let me know. And please don't spam me with ads about diet products, I will report you if you do. Thank you

Keep practising. Make sure you get your iron. And vitamins. Drink alot when your running. Dehydration affects your performance alot. Keep Trying. Don't give up.

Im amazed at how slow you are, you should be running a 3 mile time around 23. Stop jogging and actually push yourself.

well dude i run 2 miles in 10 mins no prob BUT do weights with ur legs stronger legs is faster running

Maybe your problem is that you are doing the same workout every day. You say your running 30 minutes but try a variety of running exercises. Try doing 6 800meter sprints or 12 400meter. Maybe try running a mile as fast as you can take a 5 minute break then run another mile. Its all about the speed work and adding this into your workout will help to make you faster and decrease your time. Good luck!

Start running more and maybe do less "working out" bump it up to 45 minutes or an hour of running or maybe do every other day an hour only of running and that's it. then the other days stick to the same plan

you seem to be doing really well... some people just cannot run as fast as other, and you just will have to except that. but maybe eat a banana before running it help with cramps and stuff.
