Is it better to do sets with reps of 2-6,or reps of 8-12?

I heard 2-6 builds strength,but 8-12 builds size? I want to know how to get my arms,chest,back and leg muscles a lot stronger,but bigger also? I know the exercises to do,but how many sets and reps should I do to build muscle,but size at the same time? Thanks for the help!

6-8 for muscle mass 12-15 for toning 8-12 for a balance

2-6 per set isn't enough... 8-12 is really what you should be going for. as for better for strength or size.. that argument doesn't make sense as you need size for strength and vice versa,
