How come im gaining weight so easily?

Why am i gaining weight when im working out?

  • So Im going into the military pretty soon and for awhile we had stopped working out (about 2months) and i ended up gaining 20lbs... my recruiter told me i need to get back down to my "DEP IN" weight. So i started going to the gym everyday after work for the past 3days.... But today i decided to see where i was at, weight wise and i gained 3 extra pounds! I didnt lose anything. WHY is that???? and how the hell can i lose the 20lbs in a safe way.... im not trying to starve myself thats unhealthy so anyone have any other ideas that ARE healthy

  • Answer:

I don't know your personal diet, but lessening the calories you consume a day while working out should help. Usually when lifting weights you may gain muscle, adding weight, but if you burn those calories through extensive workout you start losing weight. Basically (you can ask any dietitian) make sure you eat less fatty foods but still eat as many times as you normally would, and keep working out.

Count your Calories and keep a journal of everything you eat! I have found this works for me.. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits.. Nothing containing sugar..no regular soda's chips or candy... Go easy on the starches. A man can consume more calories then a woman my son loses 3 pounds a week on a 1,500 calorie diet I lose 2 pounds a week on a 1,200 calorie diet.

so u know ur gonna gain a little weight at first becu ur body not used to working out

Exercise is never the solution to weight. Remember this... YOU CAN ALWAYS EAT MORE THAN YOU CAN BURN!! The solution to weight and fat is diet. Eating a proper diet means eating the right foods and the right portions. That's how you control your weight. Your exercise routine should be planned around fitness goals (strength, endurance, etc), not fat goals. Check out these fitness facts. • If you consume fewer calories than you burn, you have to lose fat eventually. There are no exceptions to this fact. • There are only two nonsurgical things we can do to sculpt a better body and they are (1) lose fat and (2) build muscle. This fact assumes muscular atrophy and fat gain will not sculpt a better body. • A pound of fat will yield about 3500 calories (Kcal) of energy. • An average person must run or walk about 5 miles (8 km) every day to burn one pound of fat per week assuming their diet allows for fat consumption. • An average person must run or walk about 350 miles (563 km) to burn 10 pounds and their diet must allow it. If they walk 350 miles (13.4 marathons) at 3mph it will take them 117 hours or about three full 40 hour work weeks to burn 10 pounds of fat. • If an average person consumes 500 calories per day less than they burn, they will lose about a pound a week with no extra time or physical effort required. •Running does not burn any more fat than walking as long as the distance remains the same. • It does not matter if a person runs or walks a given distance…they will burn the same number of calories. Calories are energy and energy expenditure is not time dependent. How fast a person runs has nothing to do with how many calories they burn. Only the distance determines the calories burned. • There is no exercise which will remove fat from a particular place on the body. Your body (genetics) determines where you lose fat, not you nor your diet nor your exercise. • It doesn’t matter how hard or how long you exercise, you will not lose any fat if you eat too much. When it comes to burning fat, diet always trumps exercise. • There are no supplements which will make your body burn fat. Only you can do that with diet control. • Refined protein supplements are a much worse form a protein than a balanced diet of nutritious natural foods which includes all essential amino acids (fish, meat, dairy, grains, etc.) because most of the nutrition has been lost in processing If you need help understanding how to eat properly, here are some links which may help. Hey there! 3 pounds is not that much. Usually, when you go to the gym, you gain muscle. Muscle is heavier than fat,so even if you burn off a bunch of fat, you can still gain weight if you're adding muscle. Anyother thing might be the amount of fecal matter you have in your body. 3 pounds is not that much. My bother went to the bathroom to take a dump and came out 4 pounds lighter. True story. If you wanna lose weight and NOT gain muscle, then do a lot of cardio. Add plyometrics, boxing, and yoga into your workout as well.

Try lowering your calories a little more. Only work out 3 times a week, your muscles need time to recover. Oh! Don't listen to people saying "you are gaining muscle", muscle and fat weigh the same and you can't gain 3 pounds of muscle before you lose fat. Good Luck!

Your gaining weight bc your muscles are growing after workouts. And lifting is only going to add more. My suggestion would be to only run. Run a couple miles a day abs don't lift. Also you have to eat right. Eat healthy foods and small portions. Instead of having 2 or 3 big meals a day eat 5 small ones. This will help speed up your metabolism, also don't eat right before bed. Go to bed on an empty stomach. Excessive sleep can cause fat storage, so don't over sleep but rest enough. 6 to 9 hours preferably.

i would lessen calories by at least 400 also, just starting with cardio can help you lose and shift the weight where weights make you gain muscle pretty quickly

Well i never gain wait but, i ko my aunt had that problem and she went to the doctors and found out the had diabetes... idk if that helped yu out a lot but i was worth a shot.
