First of all, why are your looking to supplement your diet? If you are between the ages of 18-55, and you eat halfway decent, you most likely do not need vitamin supplementation, except for maybe iron if your a female of child bearing years. There is research that will say both ways. That you should take a vitamin, that you shouldn't. As a practicing dietitian, i would never recommend vitamins to anyone with the exception for pregnant or lactating women. Also, maybe if you were vegan, but even vegan's who balance their diet correctly need little, to no supplementation. look to boost your eating habits first. Fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables are much better vitamins than anything they put in a pill
