  • Answer:

Your body burns about 2200 calories a day by just being alive. So yes, you will lose weight rather quickly.

2600 calories a day = a 100# mature female has a BMR of at LEAST 1300 and getting our of bed and sitting up except for 8 hours of sleep time burns another 1300 (according to several online calculators) that is 2600 calories without standing, movement, activities or exercise. I believe you are in full force starvation mode, you're body quits demanding food and goes on shut down to not cause you unneeded duress and assumes you cannot provide. Starving will turn the body into a fat storage machine, a person loses mostly water weight and the lean tissue the body will strip to access nutrition. The body won't release fat stores if calories are lowered below what it needs. It will slow the metabolism to compensate and store every spare ounce as fat. If a person continues lowering their calories, it will continue lowering that set point, til one can survive off nothing and store fat on anything. The body will only release it's fat stores if it knows there is plenty of food available (not just calorically high food, but nutritionally high food). I would suggest you dramatically increase, well above your needs, food intake with low carb foods. It will take your body awhile to access the fat stores depending how long you've been in starvation mode, but you shouldn't gain weight, other than water weight and the lean tissue your body has had to strip to access nutrition. If you are young enough and do this, you may be able to repair the damage to your metabolism before it becomes permanent. Metabolism is controlled by nutrition. You can't eat 600/1000/2000 calories of vegetables & fruit (pick a number, it doesn't matter - only the amount of fat stored changes), your body will treat it as being starved (which it is, starved of nutrition) and will shut down your metabolism as if you're eating nothing, but will store every possible ounce as fat. Inversely, you wont gain weight on 5000 or more calories of fat & protein (if fat is 65% of calories) because insulin (the fat storage hormone) is not activated. High fat, adequate protein and very low carbs will after 3 days convert your body to burning fat as fuel (ketosis). While in ketosis you will burn dietary fat and if dietary fat is more than sufficient, body fat directly. High calories will keep the metabolism at maximum fat burning capabilities. Your body requires fats, you will die without them. Your body requires protein, you will die without them. You will die if you eat protein without fat. You do not require carbohydrates. The body can manufacture all it needs from the protein/fat combination. You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don't eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you'll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace. If you starve yourself by lowering calories lower than are needed for the body to function, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn't get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn't slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories. Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released. High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels. Once you get near your goal, you start adding 5 carbs every 3 days til you gain weight, then you subtract 10 carbs. That would give you your personal carb level (everyone is different and it depends on how active you are.) As long as you remain <9 carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control, and shouldn't gain weight no matter the calories.

Yes, you will.

3500 is the equivalency of 1lb. Depending on how old you are you probably burn at least 1500 cal a day. If you're young (under 25) you probably burn closer to 2000 cal. And that's not even if you're active. Females should consume at least 1200 cal a day or else you are risking not having enough cal to perform the daily tasks you ask of your body. You need to eat more than 1000 cal. Use this site for more information: www.calorie-count.com It's completely free and it will help you reach or maintain any weight goals you have as well as telling you how many calories you expend on a daily basis.

It is extremely unhealthy, not the best way to lose weight.

that is a terrible thing to do!!!!! its WHAT you eat, not how much- what you are doing is starving your body. its called anorexia- even though you are eating you're burning it all away and then some. starving yourself doesn't necessarily help you lose weight, it makes it so when you start eating normal again it retains all the fat and you get bigger than before. eat healthy and work out, but overdoing it will in the long run put you 3 steps behind.

soak or fry things in coconut oil, helps w/ more cals, please visit site, found it actually specifically answers this question well idk the site but just google the calorie myth. PLEASE!!!

yes but thats not healthy..

Not really. You will at first but then your body with adapt, and see what you are doing, and then pack it on again. In the meantime you're body will lower your energy needs by reducing your metabolism (your "get up and go" power), and your muscle mass. It will retain bodyfat as long as it can. Which is basically what you don't want to happen. Try this. It's simple, but will get you in the ball-park. Take your current weight x 12. This will give you "about" the number of calories you should eat... doesnt matter what your burn rate is. Eat this, and you;ll give your body what it needs, and it will release MORE bodyfat to fuel your workouts. By doing cardio intensive workouts, your body will give up stored fat. But ONLY if it has enough calories for itself. Our bodies are selfish like that. As you reduce in weight, remember to recalculate your calorie needs, as they will be lower.
