How many situps should i do?

I want to start getting fit, ive done situps before, but not as a routine. Im 17yrs old, how many situps should i do? do i do like 10situps for 10sets or something? or just keep doing situps for 30mins and take a break. also will i lose weight if i just only do situps + diet? or will i only get abs.

Answer:
OK first off sit-ups will not help you lose weight! You have to burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight! In order to do that you have to do cardio. Running, aerobics, pilates! Sit-ups really only work your hip flexor muscles. Look up websites about pilates! That is one of the things I do and believe me IT WORKS! It is one workout you WILL feel in the morning! But, trust me, it's worth it!!!! Hope this helps.
