Can you give me some tips on how to stop eating SO much?

I have tried to cut back on eating so much, because I know I do. My mom knows it too. But when I try to cut back, I end up eating more. And gain more weight. I am not trying to starve myself, I just want to be able to eat one smaller serving and not always go back for seconds. Or thirds. Do you have any advice? Any tips? I hear about all this crap about stuff that keeps you from eating so much, but I want to not have to buy anything. I know I have a problem, and would like it to stop.

Drink water more than you eat.always have a water bottle near you. When you drink water a lot it makes you feel full so you wont eat all the time. For dinner lunch breakfast drink water cause it will fill you up and you wont eat all your food. And let your mom portion out your meals for you. Dont get seconds. Have your mom help you. When you have support it will make you feel better and you will lose weight faster and easier. You dont have to go out and spend tones of money on healthier foods just start by eating more vegetables and fruits. Good Luck I hope things go good for you! :D

Two suggestios I can think of. One is to stay busy. If you have a busy schedule, lots of interesting things to do, and don't have the time to think about food, you will eat less. A lot of over eating is boredom. And if you are more active physically, you will use the food you do eat, more efficiently. Another is that like any habit, eating simply is a comforting ritual. But it does not matter that much what you consume. One thing you can do is simply carry a bottle of water around all the time, and drink from that often. It will at least help to create the feeling of a full stomach, and reduce the need to eat as much.

The hardest thing to do is to control the hunger! That's why it is best to eat like 5 or 6 small meals a day. This does 2 things: 1) It keeps you full longer and 2) it keeps your metabolism up and running, so you will actually lose weight! You have to plan ahead and pack all of your meals for the day. Lots of fruits and veggies, lean meats like chicken and tuna, and whole wheat breads and pastas. Plan a week ahead of time, keep all of your healthy snacks in reach. But here is the best thing that helped me, plan a goal for a "bad snack". I told myself that if I went a week on my good diet that I could have my bad snack on Saturday, it worked great! Gave me an incentive!

You eat because your bored. I cut out eating sweets/candy for a few weeks and it was pretty easy after the first few days where I felt like killing someone for a chocolate filled donut. Just decide, I am going to have 3 meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner), and you can snack occasionally on an Apple or something. Once your past the first week, you'll realise its easy

Chewing sugar free gum (especially Extra) helps with keeping you less hungry between meals. It's good to eat a normal serving and if you're still hungry it doesn't hurt at all to eat fruit or vegetables as a snack. You may not go this way but praying for help always helps me.

Most of us have this problem. I say eat more fruits and fiber foods. And dont cut back on eating, just eat smaller portions,and make sure you get out and play or walk around. That'll help you.

you can always try the water trick diet.......drink lots of water to make you think youre full.
