If you tell a dentist to stop are they required by law to stop working on you?

If you tell a dentist to stop are they required by law to stop working on you? If you tell a dentist to wait are they required to? Does it matter that both my husband and I were telling her to stop? He has to accompany me to my appointments in lieu of my service dog. Since I use nitrus I don't feel comfortable with my service dog along since if the stuff's turned up enough I wouldn't be able to control him. I'm wondering if what this lady did to me was merely inconsiderate, wrong in my opinion, and cruel, at least for someone with my history. I just recently had the worst dentist experience of my life and I want to know what the boundaries are for dentists before I ever go see one again. If it matters I am a disabled female with ptsd, anxiety disorder, and other mental issues. This is well documented in my chart.

Yes, they are required to stop. And its not just dentists, if ANYONE is doing something to you and you tell them to stop, they HAVE to. I'm pretty sure it would be considered assault if they don't.
