How long does professional tooth whitening last?

How often can I do a cycle of Crest Whitestrips tooth whitening?

• About 4 months ago I completed a 7day Crest Whitestrips premium pack but I did so without following the guidelines properly. This was due to poor time management not abuse of the strips. I started the pack with a twice daily application then broke for a week then back for another couple of days then broke for a day etc. Some days I would only do the application for 1, instead of 2, 30 min session. What I'm trying to say is that I applied a very inconsistent approach and as a result don't believe I achieved optimum whitening. I had a degree of success, they definitely lightened my front teeth somewhat, but those minor gains have since diminished and I would like to try the strips again but with a rigorous approach..ie follow the instructions and apply every day!!! I can't seem to get any info on how often its considered safe to start a new pack?? Does anyone know? Ive heard everything from you can do two packs one after the other to you shouldn't start another for 8-12months. I'd love to try again but the health of my teeth and enamel is priority one! Any advice?

  There really isn't a set limit to how often you use Crest whitestrips since they are made of enamel-safe ingredients. The directions say to use them until you have reached the desired whiteness of teeth and then you may use them whenever you feel they need more whitening. I've used several packs of whitestrips and they definitely do work a lot better if the directions are followed. However, I have found that they do lighten my smile no matter what, I just get there faster if I follow the directions! Hopefully that's somewhat helpful and your teeth get as white as you want them to!
